Adventure, Baby! The Grandfather Tree

I’m currently recovering from our Father’s Day weekend camping trip, which I will be posting about soon. In the mean time I wanted to share a really neat little hike we did recently!

Did you know that there is a 300+ year old white spruce tree in Cochrane? No? Neither did I until a couple of weeks ago.

Known as The Grandfather Tree, it’s easily accessible from the Cochrane Ranch (historic site).

It was a gorgeous hot day! We let Katrin walk for as much of it as she wanted (most of the little paths and trails are very toddler friendly). We don’t go very fast, but we sure enjoy ourselves!

Fortunately when she gets tired, she can get a lift.

She had an absolute ball, and she’s getting so good at walking! It’s a game changer now that she’s more mobile. I have no idea where she gets all the energy from, because she could literally run around for hours HA HA!

We didn’t get to the ranch until pretty late in the afternoon, so we didn’t get to see all of the neat things it has to offer (or do all of the trail) but we will definitely be back. It’s a lovely place to spend an afternoon, and lots of places to have a picnic lunch and let kids run around and play.

I should get all the weekend photos uploaded and hopefully find some time to write this week. Check back soon for our next post (or you can subscribe to receive it by email, in the sidebar there).
